Project Overview

This seaside house, in Trindad, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, was built circa 1930 and actually utilized some wood from the local whaling station which closed in 1927.  When the owners decided to remodel this house they wanted Cottage Construction Company to design-build a remodeled house that maintained the original "fisherman's cottage" feel as much as possible while still making the necessary changes for modern, California living and gathering family around.

Taking advantage of the dramatic, ocean views from three-sides of the house, Cottage expanded the  existing front entry and transformed it into a dining nook with large, corner picture windows.  The front door was moved to an adjacent location covered by a bracketed awning with a curved copper roof and custom, sand-blasted,
