Project Overview

Located on a flat-lot, with plenty of land around the original house in Fieldbrook, the building challenge was to create a new home on same site which took advantage of natural vistas, gave some relief from the hot summer days, and provided an open great room coupled to a kitchen where all could gather, yet offered adjacent cozy areas. The exterior of this project shows the extensive use of redwood post and beam construction on the porches, eaves and decks. The customers were very conscious about creating a house from as many "green"  building products as possible, including solar gain, a solar system, water cisterns, and recycled products.  Some of these products included: certified framing and sheathing lumber, local manufactured, blue jean insulation, and water-based finishes.
